These notecards are a series of block-printed sea monster illustrations. The card designs were carved individually on 8x10in linoleum blocks, each taking about 5 to 6 hours to carve. They are inspired by the mystery of the oceans, as well as my own experience with thalassophobia. Each design is a unique creature stemming from a different religion or folktale. The Kraken Notecard with envelopes. The envelopes have a map design to signify the connection between the belief in sea monsters in response to the charting of the oceans.
